Paguristes cadenati also known as the Scarlet Hermit are in our opinion are the best hermits to keep, feeding on detritus and nuisance algae including hair, and slime varieties, as well as cyanobacteria! And unlike most hermits these are peaceful to their tank mates. Found in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic this species can grow to about 1 1/2” and needs empty shells to move into as they grow.
